Master's Program in Environmental Education
"A Wise Investement in Earth's Future"

Program Overview
Master's Degree Program in Environmental Education at Cal State San Bernardino

As the only university in Southern California offering this graduate program, we are preparing tomorrow's best environmental educators through our program that offers:
-- Coursework related to environmental interests
-- A dynamic learning environment
-- Innovative learning situations
-- Flexibility in reaching professional objectives.

Since 1990, we have been providng an effective environmental education graduate program aimed at meeting the educational needs of formal and non-formal educators at:
-- All grade levels
-- Nature centers, museums, parks
-- Outdoor school programs
-- Nonprofit environmental associations
-- Federal, state, county and city agencies

We seek students who have teaching experience. The experience can be of a short period of time; you need to know that you enjoy teaching. About half the students have a teaching credential. Having a teaching credential is not a requirement. The program attracts students locally, nationally, and internationally.

We accept 20 new students to begin the program Fall quarter taking the environmental education classes as a cohort. Admission may be open for other quarters.

Successful outcomes of your personal development as an environmental educator will include:

-- Up-to-date knowledge of the environmental education field
-- Grant writing skills
-- Networking expertise for partnerships to promote change
-- Ability to design and implement effectie educational programs
-- Knowledge of program assessment to improve programs

A bonus: Certificate in Environmental Education can be obtained by completing 18 quarter units.
